Ok – now I’m taking a twist with the usual runs I’ve had from the Sunday drives. This time my buddy Dogwomble has dragged me along as a cameraman with a pit pass to the Wakefield Park race track in Goulburn. The main aim of the mission was to capture footage of a couple of Formula 2 cars in action to promote Formula 2 Racing Club.
Car 42 was the main car we were meant to be following about for the weekend. But it unfortunately suffered mechanical issues during the qualifying laps and needed work done that couldn’t be applied easily over the weekend.
Even with the effort put in to patch it up – gearbox issues prevented the car from starting up again.
With the Formula 2 racers being a friendly bunch in the pits we ended up taking footage of a fellow racer in car 82 for the Formula 2 related races.
Due to the small size of the Formula 2 scene and many other similar sized racing groups we got to see a number of other racing types on and off the track sharing the racing facilities.

As you can see I’m getting a little carried away with my photos in this post…

And as with any high powered motor racing – there’s usually some casualty or two on the day.

And to control myself with all these photos I’ve shrunk a few down – clicking on them will zoom them in a bit for better viewing.
And to top it off a bit of good ol’ camera-phone action!

Ok – it’s been a struggle to keep things up to date – but anyways – time to catch up on recent activities…

My friends and I are beginning to make a habit of this….

I forget where we went – but it was somewhere in a national park

Saw some big rocky bits of nature…

Found some dam among some trees.

Saw some really tall trees.

Paused for a break and then buggered off home….
Edit: and how could I forget some video from the trip…

Brrrrrrm! Brrrrrrrm! ba ba ba ba brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm! (and no I’m not referring the the “Crazy Frog ringtone!”)

At least that’s vaguely what I’ll be hearing in a few days. One of my friends called dogwomble is dragging me off to a race meet for the Australian Formula 2 Club Inc. Apparently I’m going to be a cameraman!
Also – for me this is a teaser/warmup for an even bigger day for me – where a few weeks later I’ll be getting a few laps in a V8 Ford/Holden racecar! I’d like the thank my partner Phillipa for getting me a voucher at http://www.v8race.com.au/
This all seems to be a digression form the original Sunday Drives that I have been posting here – so I’ve re-organised my website categories a bit.
